Sunshine
Yes, I'm a real Ratty and have messed around in boats for years. Sunshine is my principal craft at the moment, and will "do me nicely" until I have the time (and money!) to build a bigger one. I have to confess that this boat has GRP hulls and was built by someone else! The link is to pictures of sailing, and techniques needed for singlehanding a polynesian catamaran, since I don't often have crew. I love to get out sailing, though prefer fair weather to foul!
Polynesian catamaran pages
Yes, such an organisation as the Polynesian Catamaran Association exists! I'm a fan of Polynesian catamarans, as interpreted by James Wharram, and there's more about these on my polynesian catamaran pages. Sunshine is actually a Wharram design (though with modified cabin tops) Tiki 21; my previous boat, Aoraki, was also a polynesian catamaran very much based on Wharram's ideas (though I designed and built her!). I enjoy meeting up with other Polycat enthusiasts, and have arranged a couple of meets for the PCA.
I've also built a few boats and intend to build another one yet. My first was Mildred, an 8 foot (2.5m) pram dinghy. On the boatbuilding at home pages you can see some details of this, Aoraki, and another Wharram design, my outrigger canoe Waka Iti.
